Amanuel Solomon is a professional dancer and choreographer and founder of Katim Disability Dance, the first company in Ethiopia led by a disabled dancer. He first encountered integrated dance as an orphan Adugna dance, then with Jackson, whose formal name is Tadesse Gebre, and later he went on to work with other companies like Destino Dance Company and on Addis Guzo. He now leads Katim dance, a mixed ability company who have performed at the National Theatre in Ethiopia, Alliance Française, Hilton, etc. They have run an integrated dance festival in 2019, 2021-2023, and also work on a dance therapy project in 8 disabled schools, engaging intellectual (Down) disability, deaf, blind, and mobility-limited students. This was funded by Finland for 3 months, then 6 months, with Tessama.
