Claire Durand-Drouhin

Biography: 
A graduate of the London Contemporary Dance School, Claire has danced with companies such as Philippe Saire, Jacky Auvray, and Nieke Swennen. She founded her own company and pursued her choreographic research in psychiatric hospitals, exploring the physical interactions between professional dancers and psychiatric patients.
She has created works including Chambre 10, Vie de famille_Génération 1, Portrait de groupe avec femme(s), Une Famille Singulière, Vie de Famille_Génération 2, Duos improbables, and Désaccord Parfait. Several of these pieces incorporate patients as performers. Claire is also deeply engaged in prison settings, where she has directed documentaries such as Blanche-Neige en prison, Seconde danse, and Le monde autrement (broadcast on France Télévisions, Planète, FR3, among others).
Since 2019, Claire has been developing Le Ballet Brut, an artistic family that blends virtuosic dancers and circus performers with self-taught dancers living with disabilities.
