About Me: I am a disability rights advocate and dedicated professional based in Lilongwe, Malawi. I have low vision caused by albinism.
My passion for human rights and advocacy has led me to specialize in disability rights advocacy, and currently, I serve as a Project Coordinator at the Association of Persons with Albinism in Malawi (APAM), an NGO dedicated to advocating for the rights of persons with albinism. My commitment to this cause extends beyond my professional role, as I continue to volunteer with the organisation, furthering my engagement in promoting inclusivity and rights. Having studied Drama and French (Bachelor of Arts in Humanities) from the University of Malawi, I strive to utilize Applied Theatre in my work to ensure that the voices of persons with disabilities are prioritized and meaningfully reflected.
Apart from that, I am the current representative of Persons with Disabilities in the 3rd SADC Youth Parliament. This platform allows me to actively contribute to regional discussions, bringing attention to the rights and concerns of persons with disabilities. I am also serving in the current European Union Malawi Youth Sounding Board, a team of 15 youth who advise the European Union Delegation on its cooperation policy, and on how to make it more participatory, inclusive and relevant to the needs of the youth in Malawi.
